Canoeing, Kayaking and Rafting in the Pyrenees

The Pyrenees offer a great choice of rivers for canoeing, kayaking and rafting. The Gites have a handful of rivers from grade 2 to 4 within 45 minutes drive and many more available within a 2 hour drive at all grades.

We have experience of canoeing and kayaking many of the rivers in the area and full details with river descriptions will be put up here shortly.

Canoe and kayak Hire
In July and August you can experience or a great relaxing float down a scenic part of the river Garronne approx 45 minutes from the Gites

Wwe recommend "Les Pagaies" based near Valcaberes.  An easy 11km trip down the gentle flwoing Garronne river with a few small rapids can be undertaken by all ability levels. White Water Rafting

Ride the rapids or enjoy a family fun float. Rafting is available in
the immediate area and comes highly recommended.

The family fun float trips run on the lower Garronne river or there is Grade 4 white water action available on the Upper Garonna just over the border in Spain.
